The new Ken Burns movie "The American Buffalo" premiers on PBS stations across the country on October 16th and 17th, 2023. The movie will also be available for streaming for 30 days! Paintings by internationally collected artists Steven Lang and David Yorke are featured in this two-part movie, which traces the history of the iconic American buffalo, and gives credit to the people who helped to save them from near-extinction.
"The Buffalo Hunters" Oil by Steven Lang, 30" x 48" is featured in the movie,"The American Buffalo." This painting is available at The Plainsmen Gallery in Dunedin, Florida.
"Dark Day on the Plains" by David Yorke, is also shown in the new movie "The American Buffalo." This painting is part of the permanent collection at the James Museum in St. Petersburg, FL.
"Trail of the Iron Horse" Oil by David Yorke, 30" x 20," was inspired by the history of the buffalo, and depicts a Plains Indian saying a prayer for the return of the buffalo.
